Websites for Restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, English and Chinese

Your regulars already know you. What a restaurant site has to do is simple: show a menu that is actually current in both languages, the right hours, and a way to order or reserve that does not hand 30% of every order to an app. We build that — the ordering runs in your own name, and we never take a cut.

East Meets Web Studio is Roger Yau's one-person web design studio in Monterey Park, California. It builds websites in English and Chinese for small businesses across the San Gabriel Valley — restaurants, clinics, accounting, real estate, law offices, salons and shops — from $2,500, every price listed, with no monthly fee after launch. What Your Customers Need From Your Site

A Menu That Is Right Tonight

Dishes, prices, sizes and spice levels in English and Chinese, changed by you in a minute when a price moves — not a photo of last year's menu.

Orders That Reach Your Kitchen, Not an App

Pickup and delivery from your own site, printed in the kitchen like any app order — with no commission to us, ever. Your app pages stay linked so nothing is lost.

Found by Hungry Neighbors in Either Language

A Google Maps profile with your Chinese name, photos and hours, so a search for 「附近 川菜」 or "dim sum near me" brings people to the right place.

A QR on Every Table and Bag

Printable "order direct and save" cards that bring app customers back to your own site, where you keep the whole order.

Our web sites that Roger built communicate with small business owners and entrepreneurs. His creative thinking and his ability to quickly solve any problems have always been most valuable to me.

Roger built both of our yoga studio websites and continues to offer updates whenever needed. He is easy to work with, quick to respond to requests, and offers great input and fresh ideas. Highly recommend!

What $2,500 Gets You

The whole website, in English and Traditional Chinese, with your menu laid out properly on a phone — where every customer looks first. Online ordering, table reservations and the printable menu-and-QR kit are add-ons with listed prices, and the ordering runs in your own account with no commission to us. On a $40 order, that is the difference between keeping $28 and keeping about $37.

Add-ons most restaurant owners choose: Online ordering · Table reservations · Menu & QR kit · Google Maps profile. Each has its own price on the pricing page, and the Quick Estimate gives you a full estimate in two minutes. Need something not on the menu? You get a written estimate at Discovery, before you decide.

Plan first, commit later: a $250 Discovery meeting gives you a written plan and a firm total price before you decide. The $250 is credited to your project, and you pay in three milestones, never all up front.

Not Sure Where Your Current Site Stands?

Type your web address and see how it does on a phone — Google's test, explained in plain words. Free, no sign-up, nothing stored.

How It Works

  1. A Free 20-Minute Call

Tell us about your business, and we'll tell you honestly whether a website will help and roughly what it would cost. No obligation.

  2. Discovery at Your Shop

We come to you, look at what you have, and leave you a one-page plan with a firm total price. Please bring your phone: we open your accounts in your name while we sit together.

  3. Launch in Four to Six Weeks, Then Training

You approve the homepage, then the rest. After launch: a recorded training session in Cantonese or English and 30 days of support.

Payment terms, what we need from you and the ground rules are on the pricing page.

Questions Restaurant Owners Ask

Do I have to give up DoorDash, Uber Eats or Fantuan?

No — keep them. The apps are where new customers find you; your own site is where regulars order so you keep the whole amount. We link every app page from your site, and print the "order direct" QR for your bags and tables.

My menu changes every few weeks. Who updates it?

You do, in about a minute, from your own edit page on any phone — we show you how before launch and record the session. If you would rather not touch it, the care plan covers up to five changes a month.

Traditional or Simplified Chinese? What about other languages?

Traditional, standard written Chinese by default — readable by Hong Kong, Taiwanese and mainland customers, written to read the way local customers actually talk. If most of your customers read Simplified, take the Simplified version on its own ($200, AI-translated and proofread by us) or alongside Traditional. Vietnamese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean or any other language is $350 each: translated by AI and checked by us for names, prices and layout, not reviewed by a native speaker — good for welcoming customers and showing hours, services and prices; for legal or medical wording, have a native speaker read it once.

Do you take a cut of my orders or bookings?

No, never. Ordering, booking and reservations run in systems opened in your own name — Square, Shopify, a reservation service — and are built into your site; the only costs are those systems' own charges — card processing, and for some of them a plan fee — paid to them, not to us. If you already use Chowbus, Fantuan or your register's ordering page, we link to it rather than build a second one.

I already use DoorDash, Uber Eats or Fantuan. Do I have to give them up?

Not at all — keep them. The apps are where new customers find you; your own site is where regulars can order. Your part: keep your app accounts as they are, tell us which plan tier you're on, and decide whether you'll pass the courier fee to customers. Our part: build ordering into your own site (usually Square's ordering system, opened in your name), link your Fantuan, Chowbus, DoorDash and Uber pages from the site so nothing is lost, print a "order direct and save" QR for bags, receipts and tables, and show you the weekly numbers so you can see orders moving from 30% commission to your own site.

How do the delivery apps actually charge me?

Commission is a percentage of the food subtotal on every order, on top of the fees the customer pays. As of September 2026: DoorDash Basic 15% · Plus 25% · Premier 30% for delivery, 6% on pickup. Uber Eats Lite 15% · Plus 25% · Premium 30%. Grubhub about 13% delivery plus about 10% "marketing", so 25% or more in practice. Fantuan, Chowbus and HungryPanda do not publish rates — they are negotiated; it's worth asking your rep for the number in writing. Paid promotions and ads are extra. Pros: new customers, DashPass and Uber One reach, no drivers to manage. Keep in mind: you pay the same 25–30% on your regulars, you don't receive the customer's contact, the platform can change the rate, and many owners raise menu prices to cover it. On a $40 order at 30% you keep $28. On your own site with on-demand delivery you pay the card fee (about 3%) plus Square's $1.50 per order plus a flat courier fee of roughly $6–10 that you can pass to the customer — so you keep about $37 if the customer pays the courier, or $28–31 if you absorb it. Pickup orders on your site keep about $38.

How quickly do you reply, and who am I talking to?

Within one business day, Monday to Saturday. You are talking to Roger — the person who writes, builds and trains. There is no sales team and no hand-off to someone you haven't met. Email, phone, text or WeChat, whichever you prefer.
