How Much Does a Website Cost in Monterey Park?

For a small business in the San Gabriel Valley, a website costs anywhere from about $200 a year done yourself to $15,000 from a large agency. Our own price is $2,500 for the complete site, every add-on priced on its own, and $0 a month after launch. Here is the whole range so you can place any quote you receive.

The Four Price Bands

  • Do it yourself on a website builder: typically $16–50 a month, so $200–600 a year, for as long as the site exists. Good for a one-page starter if you have the evenings to spare.
  • "$199, live in two days": usually a template with your logo added, kept on the seller's account. The real cost shows up later — monthly fees, and what it takes to move away.
  • A small studio build like ours: $2,500 for the complete site in English and Chinese, with add-ons from $200 to $3,000 — a Chinese version, online booking or ordering, an online store, a Google Maps profile. The total is simple addition, and you see it before you decide.
  • Agencies: $5,000–15,000 for a comparable site, often with a monthly plan of $100–500 on top. Worth it when you need a team of specialists; most neighborhood businesses do not.

What It Costs to Keep Running

With us, the yearly running cost is the domain name, about $11 a year for a .com. There is no hosting bill and no monthly fee to us. Only an online store needs a platform plan, because the checkout runs there. If you would rather we make your small changes, the optional care plan is $150 a month and cancels any month.

How the $2,500 Is Paid

A $250 Discovery meeting comes first and gives you a one-page plan with a firm total. That $250 is the first of four payments that add up to the total — the rest is paid at design approval and at launch, never all up front. If a simple starter site is all you need right now, we will say so on the free call and point you to a good builder instead.

Do I own my website and domain?

Yes — domain, accounts and edit login are in your name from day one, and we work inside them as a helper you can remove any time. Owning puts two small things in your hands, the yearly domain renewal and your passwords — here is what that means.

Is there a monthly fee or a contract?

Not to us, unless you want one. No retainer, no auto-renewal, nothing to cancel. Hosting is included and stays free for a site like this; your only running cost is the web address, about $11 a year for a .com (an online store adds Shopify's plan; the Instagram feed adds a small feed service from about $5 a month, in your own account). Only heavy video stored on the site itself, or a custom feature that runs on every visit, would move hosting to a paid tier of about $5 a month — and we would let you know before it happens. If you'd rather not touch the site yourself, the optional care plan is $150 a month for up to five small changes and cancels any month.

Why $2,500 when I've seen "$199 in two days"?

Those offers can be a fine start for some businesses. They are usually a template with your logo added, hosted on the seller's account, so the real cost shows up later in monthly fees and in what it takes to leave. Our price is the whole price, paid in three milestones, and the site is yours the day it launches. If a simple starter site is all you need right now, we'll tell you so and point you to a good builder.

Do I need to pay extra for SEO?

No — everything a website itself can do for Google is in the base price: a page for each service in English and Chinese, correct titles and descriptions, a sitemap, fast loading, and old links carried over on a rebuild. For a local business, what moves you up from there is not on the website at all — it is your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your photos. The profile setup is a $350 add-on; the reviews and photos are yours to keep collecting, and we'll show you how. We don't sell a monthly SEO plan: for most businesses serving one neighborhood it does not pay back. If yours is in a crowded category, we'll tell you so at Discovery and point you to what actually works.

Why not a freelancer or a $300 site from Fiverr?

Some owners have a great experience that way, and if a simple starter site is all you need, it can be the right call. The pattern we hear about from owners who were burned is always the same: paid up front, the site never finished or never handed over, and nobody answering. That is why our terms are built the other way round — you pay in three steps as work is completed, everything is opened in your name from the first meeting so there is nothing to hand over later, and the person you talk to is the person who builds and trains you, reachable within one business day. If a freelancer offers you the same three things in writing, they are worth considering too.
