Should My Website Be in Chinese Too? Traditional or Simplified?
If a meaningful share of your customers are more comfortable reading Chinese, yes — and in the San Gabriel Valley that is most neighborhoods. Our sites come in English and Traditional Chinese; a Simplified version is a $200 add-on. Each language has its own address, so Google can find your business in all three.
Why a Chinese Version Pays Off Here
A 2018 community survey found that more than half of the Chinese and Taiwanese residents of the San Gabriel Valley speak English less than very well. They search Google in Chinese, read menus and price lists in Chinese, and send a WeChat message before they call. A website that exists only in English is invisible to that search and hard work for that reader. Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, Arcadia and Rowland Heights are each between a third and a half Chinese by population.
Traditional or Simplified?
- Traditional is the default on our sites: standard written Chinese that Hong Kong, Taiwanese and mainland readers all follow, with wording that matches how customers here speak.
- Simplified is a $200 add-on when most of your customers read it — newer arrivals, students, or a business near the eastern San Gabriel Valley. You can run both.
- The Chinese is written in standard written Chinese that reads naturally to Hong Kong and Taiwanese customers. Before launch you check your names, prices and hours once.
- Other languages — Vietnamese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean — are $350 each, suitable for welcoming customers and showing hours, services and prices.
How Google Finds Each Version
Each language lives at its own address — yoursite.com, yoursite.com/zh/ and yoursite.com/zh-cn/ — and each page tells Google which language it is and where its sisters are. That is the structure Google recommends, and it is why a search for 「蒙特利公園 牙醫」 and one for "dentist Monterey Park" can both land on you. A language button that only swaps the words on one page does not achieve this.

Can I update the site myself?
Yes — that is the whole idea. Your site has its own edit page where you change hours, prices, photos, menu items and text; a save is live in about a minute, and every save is kept so anything can be put back. Before launch we sit down with you — in Cantonese or English — and make real changes together. You get a recording of that session and a short written guide in Chinese and English, plus 30 days of support after launch. If you're a Mandarin speaker, the written guide and WeChat make it easy — Roger reads and writes Chinese fluently.
Traditional or Simplified Chinese? What about other languages?
Traditional, standard written Chinese by default — readable by Hong Kong, Taiwanese and mainland customers, written to read the way local customers actually talk. If most of your customers read Simplified, take the Simplified version on its own ($200, AI-translated and proofread by us) or alongside Traditional. Vietnamese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean or any other language is $350 each: translated by AI and checked by us for names, prices and layout, not reviewed by a native speaker — good for welcoming customers and showing hours, services and prices; for legal or medical wording, have a native speaker read it once.
Do I need to pay extra for SEO?
No — everything a website itself can do for Google is in the base price: a page for each service in English and Chinese, correct titles and descriptions, a sitemap, fast loading, and old links carried over on a rebuild. For a local business, what moves you up from there is not on the website at all — it is your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your photos. The profile setup is a $350 add-on; the reviews and photos are yours to keep collecting, and we'll show you how. We don't sell a monthly SEO plan: for most businesses serving one neighborhood it does not pay back. If yours is in a crowded category, we'll tell you so at Discovery and point you to what actually works.
