Websites for Salons, Spas and Beauty Studios, English and Chinese

Your Instagram shows the work. What it cannot do is show prices in Chinese, take a deposit at midnight, or stop a no-show from costing you an hour. A salon site does those three things and hands the booking to your calendar — in your own name, with no commission to us.

East Meets Web Studio is Roger Yau's one-person web design studio in Monterey Park, California. It builds websites in English and Chinese for small businesses across the San Gabriel Valley — restaurants, clinics, accounting, real estate, law offices, salons and shops — from $2,500, every price listed, with no monthly fee after launch. What Your Clients Need From Your Site

Prices and Photos on a Phone, in Both Languages

Your service list with prices and times, your best photos, your hours — the three things a new client checks before she books, readable without pinching the screen.

Booking With a Deposit, No More No-Shows

Online booking in your own account that takes a deposit when they book, sends the reminder, and keeps the deposit if they do not turn up.

Instagram on Your Site, Automatically

Your latest posts appear on the site without you lifting a finger, so the work keeps selling even for people who never open the app.

Found by the Neighborhood in Either Language

A Google Maps profile with your Chinese name, photos and hours, so 「附近 美甲」 and "nail salon near me" both bring people to your chair.

Our web sites that Roger built communicate with small business owners and entrepreneurs. His creative thinking and his ability to quickly solve any problems have always been most valuable to me.

Roger built both of our yoga studio websites and continues to offer updates whenever needed. He is easy to work with, quick to respond to requests, and offers great input and fresh ideas. Highly recommend!

What $2,500 Gets You

The whole website, in English and Traditional Chinese: your services, prices, photos and hours laid out properly on a phone. Online booking with deposits, the Instagram feed and the Google Maps profile are add-ons with listed prices, and the booking runs in your own account with no commission to us. Two saved no-shows a month pay for the booking add-on by itself.

Add-ons most salon and spa owners choose: Online booking with deposits · Instagram feed on your site · Google Maps profile · Connect your current system. Each has its own price on the pricing page, and the Quick Estimate gives you a full estimate in two minutes. Need something not on the menu? You get a written estimate at Discovery, before you decide.

Plan first, commit later: a $250 Discovery meeting gives you a written plan and a firm total price before you decide. The $250 is credited to your project, and you pay in three milestones, never all up front.

Not Sure Where Your Current Site Stands?

Type your web address and see how it does on a phone — Google's test, explained in plain words. Free, no sign-up, nothing stored.

How It Works

  1. A Free 20-Minute Call

Tell us about your business, and we'll tell you honestly whether a website will help and roughly what it would cost. No obligation.

  2. Discovery at Your Shop

We come to you, look at what you have, and leave you a one-page plan with a firm total price. Please bring your phone: we open your accounts in your name while we sit together.

  3. Launch in Four to Six Weeks, Then Training

You approve the homepage, then the rest. After launch: a recorded training session in Cantonese or English and 30 days of support.

Payment terms, what we need from you and the ground rules are on the pricing page.

Questions Salon and Spa Owners Ask

I already take bookings on Vagaro, Fresha or Square. Will that still work?

Yes. We place your existing booking button or widget on the site, match it to your design and check it on phones, for a flat $250. Your account, your clients and your subscription stay exactly where they are.

My stylists each have their own Instagram. Can the site show their work?

Yes — a page per stylist or technician with their photos, specialties and a booking button of their own, in both languages, so clients book the person they came for.

Is there a monthly fee or a contract?

Not to us, unless you want one. No retainer, no auto-renewal, nothing to cancel. Hosting is included and stays free for a site like this; your only running cost is the web address, about $11 a year for a .com (an online store adds Shopify's plan; the Instagram feed adds a small feed service from about $5 a month, in your own account). Only heavy video stored on the site itself, or a custom feature that runs on every visit, would move hosting to a paid tier of about $5 a month — and we would let you know before it happens. If you'd rather not touch the site yourself, the optional care plan is $150 a month for up to five small changes and cancels any month.

Traditional or Simplified Chinese? What about other languages?

Traditional, standard written Chinese by default — readable by Hong Kong, Taiwanese and mainland customers, written to read the way local customers actually talk. If most of your customers read Simplified, take the Simplified version on its own ($200, AI-translated and proofread by us) or alongside Traditional. Vietnamese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean or any other language is $350 each: translated by AI and checked by us for names, prices and layout, not reviewed by a native speaker — good for welcoming customers and showing hours, services and prices; for legal or medical wording, have a native speaker read it once.

Do you take a cut of my orders or bookings?

No, never. Ordering, booking and reservations run in systems opened in your own name — Square, Shopify, a reservation service — and are built into your site; the only costs are those systems' own charges — card processing, and for some of them a plan fee — paid to them, not to us. If you already use Chowbus, Fantuan or your register's ordering page, we link to it rather than build a second one.

How quickly do you reply, and who am I talking to?

Within one business day, Monday to Saturday. You are talking to Roger — the person who writes, builds and trains. There is no sales team and no hand-off to someone you haven't met. Email, phone, text or WeChat, whichever you prefer.

Can you connect the booking, membership or ordering system I already use?

Yes. If it offers an embed code or a widget — Mindbody, Vagaro, Square, Momence, OpenTable, Yelp, Mailchimp and most others do — it is a flat $250 per system, however many pieces it needs. We place it, match it to your design and check it on phones. Your subscription stays yours; we never hold your login. If the platform offers no embed option, we'll quote it at Discovery.
