EAST MEETS WEB中西合璧網工房

Websites for Real Estate Agents and Brokers, English and Chinese

Buyers from overseas and families moving within the Valley both start the same way: a search on their phone, in their own language, for an agent who knows Arcadia or San Marino or Rowland Heights. Your site is where that search either turns into a WeChat message or moves on to the next name.

East Meets Web Studio is Roger Yau's one-person web design studio in Monterey Park, California. It builds websites in English and Chinese for small businesses across the San Gabriel Valley — restaurants, clinics, accounting, real estate, law offices, salons and shops — from $2,500, every price listed, with no monthly fee after launch. What Your Clients Need From Your Site

Your Record, Not Just Your Photo

Sold properties with prices and cities, in both languages, updated by you in a minute after each closing — the page overseas buyers screenshot and forward.

Neighborhood Pages in Chinese

A page each for the cities you work — schools, commute, what a typical home costs — written in Chinese that reads like Chinese, so a buyer in Shanghai or Taipei trusts you before the first call.

Listings From Your MLS, Live

We connect the listing feed or search tool your brokerage already provides, so your site shows live listings without you retyping anything.

WeChat and a Form That Reach You Now

Your WeChat QR beside a contact form that asks which language and which app they prefer, delivered to your phone the same minute.

Our web sites that Roger built communicate with small business owners and entrepreneurs. His creative thinking and his ability to quickly solve any problems have always been most valuable to me.

What $2,500 Gets You

The whole website, in English and Traditional Chinese: your record, your neighborhoods, your contact details where a buyer looks first. Connecting your brokerage's listing tool, a Simplified Chinese version for mainland buyers, and the Google Maps profile are add-ons with listed prices. One referral from a page a client forwarded pays for the site several times over.

Add-ons most real estate owners choose: Connect your current system · Simplified Chinese version · Google Maps profile · Instagram feed on your site. Each has its own price on the pricing page, and the Quick Estimate gives you a full estimate in two minutes. Need something not on the menu? You get a written estimate at Discovery, before you decide.

Plan first, commit later: a $250 Discovery meeting gives you a written plan and a firm total price before you decide. The $250 is credited to your project, and you pay in three milestones, never all up front.

Not Sure Where Your Current Site Stands?

Type your web address and see how it does on a phone — Google's test, explained in plain words. Free, no sign-up, nothing stored.

How It Works

  1. A Free 20-Minute Call

Tell us about your business, and we'll tell you honestly whether a website will help and roughly what it would cost. No obligation.

  2. Discovery at Your Shop

We come to you, look at what you have, and leave you a one-page plan with a firm total price. Please bring your phone: we open your accounts in your name while we sit together.

  3. Launch in Four to Six Weeks, Then Training

You approve the homepage, then the rest. After launch: a recorded training session in Cantonese or English and 30 days of support.

Payment terms, what we need from you and the ground rules are on the pricing page.

Questions Real Estate Owners Ask

Do I need Simplified Chinese as well?

If a meaningful share of your buyers are from the mainland, yes — it is a small add-on converted from the Traditional version and proofread, and Google shows each version to the right readers. If your clients are mostly local, Taiwanese or Hong Kong families, Traditional alone serves them well.

My brokerage gives me a free page. Why have my own site?

The brokerage page belongs to the brokerage, looks like every other agent's, and usually has no Chinese. Your own site stays with you if you move offices, carries your record and your neighborhoods in both languages, and is the address on your card and WeChat profile for years.

Is there a monthly fee or a contract?

Not to us, unless you want one. No retainer, no auto-renewal, nothing to cancel. Hosting is included and stays free for a site like this; your only running cost is the web address, about $11 a year for a .com (an online store adds Shopify's plan; the Instagram feed adds a small feed service from about $5 a month, in your own account). Only heavy video stored on the site itself, or a custom feature that runs on every visit, would move hosting to a paid tier of about $5 a month — and we would let you know before it happens. If you'd rather not touch the site yourself, the optional care plan is $150 a month for up to five small changes and cancels any month.

Traditional or Simplified Chinese? What about other languages?

Traditional, standard written Chinese by default — readable by Hong Kong, Taiwanese and mainland customers, written to read the way local customers actually talk. If most of your customers read Simplified, take the Simplified version on its own ($200, AI-translated and proofread by us) or alongside Traditional. Vietnamese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean or any other language is $350 each: translated by AI and checked by us for names, prices and layout, not reviewed by a native speaker — good for welcoming customers and showing hours, services and prices; for legal or medical wording, have a native speaker read it once.

How quickly do you reply, and who am I talking to?

Within one business day, Monday to Saturday. You are talking to Roger — the person who writes, builds and trains. There is no sales team and no hand-off to someone you haven't met. Email, phone, text or WeChat, whichever you prefer.

Do I need to pay extra for SEO?

No — everything a website itself can do for Google is in the base price: a page for each service in English and Chinese, correct titles and descriptions, a sitemap, fast loading, and old links carried over on a rebuild. For a local business, what moves you up from there is not on the website at all — it is your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your photos. The profile setup is a $350 add-on; the reviews and photos are yours to keep collecting, and we'll show you how. We don't sell a monthly SEO plan: for most businesses serving one neighborhood it does not pay back. If yours is in a crowded category, we'll tell you so at Discovery and point you to what actually works.

Can you connect the booking, membership or ordering system I already use?

Yes. If it offers an embed code or a widget — Mindbody, Vagaro, Square, Momence, OpenTable, Yelp, Mailchimp and most others do — it is a flat $250 per system, however many pieces it needs. We place it, match it to your design and check it on phones. Your subscription stays yours; we never hold your login. If the platform offers no embed option, we'll quote it at Discovery.
